1749 Chesterfield County Courthouse Bell

Sharon Norquest of Norquest Conservation Studio,works to stabilize the 1749 Chesterfield County courthouse bell at the Chesterfield Historical Society Tues. April 18, 2017. The bell most recently has been housed in the belfry of the historic 1917 courthouse. Norquest is scheduled to work on the bell for three days, removing white paint that was splattered from a restoration of the belfry, stabilizing the old black paint and protecting the surface from rust. When complete, the iron bell will be on permanent exhibit at the Chesterfield County Museum.
