Alabama tied a school and SEC record with four players selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. First to go was cornerback Marlon Humphrey, No. 16 overall to the Baltimore Ravens. With the very next pick, the Washington Redskins chose defensive end Jonathan Allen. Tight end O.J. Howard was the third Alabama player off the board, drafted by Tampa Bay at No. 19. Linebacker Reuben Foster was the last Crimson Tide player to go as the 49ers traded back in to the first round to select him at No. 31. 2017 marked the first time since 2011 that Alabama had four players chosen in the first round.
